Booking an appointment

Appointments can be made on the day by calling from 8am in the morning. We appreciate that lines are busy; we answer every call possible. We also have some appointments that are available to book 2 weeks in advance with the GP.

If you think you need a HOME VISIT, please let us know before 9:30am. It is important to give us an idea of the problem and a degree of urgency, as almost all problems can be much better dealt with within the surgery or at a hospital.

You may occasionally feel that, rather than booking an appointment with the doctor, you want advice on a problem or on medication; this could be dealt with easily over the telephone. In these circumstances, it is best to ring the surgery first thing in the morning, enabling us to pass on the information to the doctor as soon as possible.

In EMERGENCIES such as chest pain or sever bleeding, it would be more beneficial to call 999 for the emergency services.

If you are telephoning for results then please telephone after 10:00am, this will enable us to deal with urgent calls for morning surgery and ensure that the urgent days results are available prior to you phoning.

Prescriptions

Patients needing repeat prescriptions will be provided with a computer printout, which is attached to the prescription. When you require a repeat prescription, please tick the appropriate item(s) and return the request slip to the surgery. Remember, do not wait until you have run out of the medication as we do require 48 hours to issue a repeat prescription.

Prescriptions can also be sent to the surgery. Please enclose a SAE so that we can then post the repeat back to you. You can also fax the request to us on 01341 280912.

You can also now request a repeat prescription through the chemist. Please speak with them to arrange repeats and collections.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS CANNOT NE TAKEN OVER THE TELEPHONE.
